BYOD Laptops

Governor Stirling Senior High School introduced a non-compulsory Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program for all students in January 2021. Students are encouraged to bring a device that meets the school’s standards to use in class under teacher direction.

We live in a world where technology is ever-present, and the introduction of the BYOD program allows for a more flexible and interactive teaching and learning environment. While students currently have some access to laptops at school, the BYOD program will allow more students to access technology at the same time. Students will also be able to use the same device at school and at home. This will allow more continuity and consistency between work done at school and work done at home.

Please be reassured that currently this program is non-compulsory, and laptops will be available for students who are unable to purchase a suitable device when available during class time.

The school has partnered with JB HiFi and Hewlett-Packard (HP) Incorporated to help parents decide on the right device for their child.
