GOVO4GOOD – Kindness Matters!

At Governor Stirling Senior High School, GOVO4GOOD is more than just our Student Council, it is a student-led initiative dedicated to creating positive change within our school and the wider Midland community.

Through fundraising events, awareness campaigns, volunteering opportunities and community partnerships, our students work together to support local charities and respond to issues affecting people in our own backyard. Whether it’s raising funds for organisations like Dreambuilders Care, Koolkuna or the Blue Tree project, collecting essential items for families experiencing hardship, hosting community events, or educating others about important social issues, GOVO4GOOD is committed to making a meaningful difference.

Throughout the year, GOVO4GOOD proudly hosts a number of annual events that have become a valued part of our school community. These include our Community Quiz Night, which brings together students, families, staff and local businesses to raise funds for local charities; our Winter Sleepout, where students experience a small insight into the challenges of homelessness while raising awareness and funds for those experiencing hardship; and our Student Leadership Camp, which develops students’ leadership skills, teamwork and commitment to serving others. Alongside these flagship events, we run a variety of fundraising initiatives, awareness campaigns and volunteer opportunities throughout the year. As GOVO4GOOD continues to grow, our goal is to create even more opportunities for students to make a positive difference, strengthen our partnerships with local organisations, and continue supporting the Midland community and surrounding areas for many years to come.

Together, we can continue making good happen, one act of kindness at a time.
